Individual Therapy for Adults

Have you ever asked yourself these questions – Who am I? Who are my people? Do I belong? Why do I keep repeating the same patterns in relationships? Why do I have trouble standing up or speaking up for myself? Why can’t I give to myself the way I give to others? Perhaps you seem fine on the outside, but struggle silently on the inside. I invite you to reach out – I can help you explore these feelings and find a deeper sense of connectedness to yourself and others.

My specialty is helping people impacted by childhood trauma to feel a greater sense of belonging in the world, and to improve their relationship to themselves and others. I work especially well with adults who were “parentified” as children, or those who grew up taking care of others’ feelings and needs while ignoring their own. I help “people pleasers” to connect with their own needs, set healthier boundaries and assert themselves in the world.

Through our work, I can help you feel more like a human being, instead of a “human doing.” I can help you connect more with your body, emotions and experience, instead of living mostly in your head. I can help you peel back the masks you wear in the world, and discover your real self, becoming more spontaneous, expressive and alive.

I am passionate about supporting people who have lived in more than one country or culture, straddle multiple identities, and grapple with a sense of belonging. Those who have existed within more than one context at a time often have a feeling of being “neither here nor there.” I invite the complex parts of yourself to be witnessed, and I can support you in integrating them. I am interested in exploring how culture, differences, or similarities show up between us in our therapeutic relationship.
